Cheri Speak

Are you listening?

What Are We Doing?

what-are-we-doing

We demonize a legitimate medicine at the same time we invite those we love to partake of poison and call it “Happy Hour”…

What are we doing?

We spend more time sharing Amber Alerts and memorializing other people’s children than we spend with our own…

What are we doing?

We accuse those who accuse us instead of looking in the mirror…

What are we doing?

We say media entertainment doesn’t influence us yet we turn to porn to get turned-on…

What are we doing?

We teach our children not to be bullies and then we go online and bully other adults…

What are we doing?

We demand others see our point of view while we neglect to see or acknowledge theirs…

What are we doing?

We vehemently protect our own God-given or Constitutional Rights, but do not believe other’s have those same rights…

What are we doing?

We spend more time with social media than we spend being social…

What are we doing?

We expect privacy and protection of our own children while we post images and video of other people’s children…

What are we doing?

We make choices that affect every one of us yet only care how they affect ourselves…

What are we doing?

We mindlessly share things we have not fact checked while we demand facts from others…

What are we doing?

We expect people to understand us while we refuse to understand them…

What are we doing?

We are all hypocrites.

    Sadly true.
In one way or the other, we are hypocrites.
Yet, we’ve just got to keep working at becoming our ideal person.
I’m still the best “me” on earth, just like you are the best “you”.
Everyone deserves to be treated the same way we want to be treated.
    Let’s make it happen!
    Nice post.

Seriously messed up how true that is. I struggle, I’ll admit it, but I try, and do find myself changing for the better (at least I hope so). Excellent post.

I have no doubt of that. And I hate how little this would affect some people’s lives.
