What do you say about the girl who’s already said everything there is to say? I mean really, she never shut up. Well she did, but it took this to make it happen!

Kidding aside, she was great, but I think she was the last one to know it. Could be because she was always talking that she never heard the kudos, but they were always there like white noise.

I have a feeling if she wrote her own eulogy it would go something like this:

“Hi there, howdy, hello…for someone who has lived her life ‘outside of the box’ you all sure didn’t waste any time putting me back in one! Is there a crank or a handle on the side so I can pop right back out?

Peek-a-boo people!

I’m really sorry that I had to bring you all together like this. It would have been a lot more fun to sit around with a glass of Pinot and a game of Catch Phrase, but hey I’ll take the company any way I can get it. I just wish I had a little warning so I could have put my make-up on myself. This orange rouge isn’t cutting it and oh my gawwwd what did they do to my hair? Don’t you dare post this on FaceBook!

Come on, quick! Some one wipe this shit off my face and put my bangs back in my eyes where they belong for Pete’s sake and where the helly are my stilettos? Um hello?  Who did these people think I was anyway?

Maybe that’s an unfair question. I don’t think anyone — even YOU, knew who I really was. Maybe I didn’t know either.”

I’m so glad we still have time to read your posts and get to know you. 🙂 I like your sense of humor! I’m like you — why do they use that orange foundation??? Either that or pasty white? I wonder what color foundation they use on people with other skin tones… say Native American or Asian or Black??? They probably look just as bad.

I think if I can’t do my own makeup and if my daughter can’t (I seriously do not see her touching my cold, lifeless body), then don’t bother. Just close the casket and let it be done with. That empty body isn’t me anyway. It was just where my spirit lived for awhile. 😀

    God bless you friend,
    Cheryl

Thanks!! I am glad to still be around to get to know you as well! Yes OMG I have no idea what those morticians or whatever they are called think when they smear that crap on our loved ones. My best friend died at the age of 29…we knew it would come sooner vs later with her health and we promised one another that we would do make-up for each other when they time came. I did. It was weird, but it was a promise!!

That’s awesome! I used to be a hairdresser, and if one of your clients pass away, there was an unwritten rule that you had to do his/her hair. Thankfully, I never had to do that.

What’s the point? I think my family would just as soon do closed casket, and I’m good with that. I always think it’s kind of morbid… And everyone says, “Oh, he/she looks so good,” and I always think, “No he/she doesn’t!” But I just smile and don’t say anything… unless they ask me. Then I have to be honest with them… Thankfully, my silent smile usually satisfies them. 🙂

OMG LOL I am cracking up. Yes, why do people say that: “Oh, he/she looks so good,” ??? Of course they most certainly do not look so good! hahahaha

Very creative Cheri! I , as well , am glad I am getting to know you even it its just cyber-ly.

I was thinking of doing a closed casket as well. I’ve been to funerals and seeing the look of the deceased really scars the image I had of them when alive. I want my family to remember my smile and sparkle in my eyes, or my crazy wtf look- either is fine 🙂 But to see that force looked some mortician formed on my face? I dont even wear much makeup as it is, I dont want to be done up like a clown. Plus, i had a classmate that was in training to be a mortician and some of the stuff she told me…shivers. Just close the lid and put a giant picture of me on top of it.

I like your eulogy – very witty. I wish you all the best in life and that you get to do your own make up before death.

I read an article about that recently, said it was tricky to take away the ‘waxy’ look that can happen after embalming. Hang on, see if I can find it… if anyone’s interested lol.

    Great post Cheri.

P.S. I can just see my sister doing my hair all curly like I hate, she would given half a chance!

Yeh I wouldn’t want people to see me dead unless I looked alive. Waxy is ok so long as it’s realistic like at the Wax Museum hahahaha

Thanks for the pingback! I like your eulogy too.
Dead people never look the same laid out in their coffins, even if they died peacefully, what makes them who they are is already gone leaving just a shell. However, I want to be sat up in a chair with a big ol glass of Shiraz in one hand and a bong in the other while all my guests party around me. It won’t matter who does my makeup, I’ll probably just end up looking wasted anyway!

Thank you very much for the ping back! I always worry about what I will look like when I die, and they stick me in that coffin with ten tons of makeup on my face. I don’t want any of my loved ones to remember me that way. I wanna look GOOD! Maybe a closed coffin with the best looking pictures of me strewn about? I love how morbid (but at the same time, fun) this daily prompt has gotten!!!
