Are you listening?

For WHICH (or whom) It Stands?

Me — who is otherwise prolific, have found myself at a loss for words today. I wish I could have written a wonderful piece on how great we’ve [the USA] become since 9/11, but that would be a lie. Instead we have become a paranoid citizenry and a bully nation, neither of which is OK by me, nor should it be OK by you.

In remembering 9/11 [today or any day]…can you look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself you really do know what happened that day and who is responsible? Can you do that without a pang in your gut and without averting your eyes from yourself?

Isn’t it time to ReThink 9/11?

So agree!! We haven’t become better at all …. In my humble opinion, it has been downhill since then. If you haven’t seen it, there’s a video on you tube:

You are very welcome. We can never forget .. should always look for answers even though there are many that we will never have.

It was entirely natural that some Americans wanted revenge for 9/11. Maybe nations need great leaders in times of strife. I doubt George Bush was capable of introspection. The “war on terror” can never be won. It was and is a fool’s errand.
The only thing the world learned from 9/11 was that the world learned nothing from 9/11. The world’s great powers still strive to control markets and profits, much as they did on 10th Sept 2001, with zero regard for those who suffer as a result. We like to fight our battles at a distance, in other peoples’ lands. Economics is the most leathal weapon of mass destruction. Syrian babies are worth less than U.K. or U.S. babies, though I don’t know the converstion rate.
M.K. Ghandi said “there are causes for which I’m prepared to die, but there is no cause for which I’m prepared to kill.” Ultimately, I suspect this is the only real “answer” to the mess we find ourselves in.
Billy Joel said “we didn’t start the fire” and he was right. He should have added “but we didn’t put it out, either”.

Are we responsible for the activities of our governments? Of course, else democracy means nothing. Can I tell you what you should do? Not a hope in hell!

Now it's my turn to listen...
