An often asked question is, “What items would you choose to have if you were stranded on a deserted island?” WordPress has us narrowing it down to only five items.
“Items” tend to need to be replaced so in thinking it over I would choose five sustainable things that would help and or better my life.
Here are five things I would have with me on a deserted island…
A Companion
Duh, why would I want to be there alone? Not only would the company be helpful for chores and physical survival, it would also go a long way towards mental health and if it is someone of the opposite sex, we can populate our island if we are never rescued. And yes, I am well aware a person is not an “item” , but if we were together we would be an “item” so there!
Water Filtration Means
Having a healthy means of gleaning clean drinking water is imperative.
Seeds
I would have a supply of seeds to grow healthy, nutritious foods I was familiar with and knew I liked. I would also include cannabis seeds for medicinal and peace of mind purposes. The hemp can later be used for other items and seeds will create new seeds for continued growing.
Heavy Duty Tarp
Tarps can be used for anything from shelter for yourself or your supplies to being a means of transporting items like firewood etc.
Case of Lighters
I have never tried to light a fire without flame and although I know it can be done I would hate to have to initially rely on that means and instead would be sure I had a case of lighters to allow for plenty of time to practice with flint etc.
FaceBookers Chime In
I posed the prompt question to 5000 FaceBook followers and here were their top answers…
And here are the items 81 other WordPress bloggers would bring…
