    Nice “about me” section here, Cheri, and I did like your Privacy Notice.

    I think it covered just about every conceivable angle, and it’s certainly more comprehensive than mine.

    But I’m a pessimist on this particular subject (optimist on the majority of other ‘life’ matters).

    I’m a freelance cartoonist, and wrote a brief post on this in my blog as I feel the majority of people will copy and use anything they want to.

    Warnings only work on the totally honest people.

      Hi Victoria! Thank you very much for the compliments. I work hard at my blog, from content to how it looks. I think I have a bit of an advantage in the sense I am (or was) a media person. I understand how to “brand”. That being said, everyone’s blog is different. What we want it to be, what we need it to be, and what we need from it. So the individual uniqueness of each and every one is special and admirable. I would say, “do not give up” and mean it wholeheartedly. Your blog is what you make it and it is a part of you, the part you allow others to see, to participate, and to share in. That too is special and admirable. I look forward to learning more about you and reading your blog. How did you find mine? By the way, if you ever need any help or want to bounce an idea off me, I’m listening. 🙂

        Thanks for the encouraging words – how did I find yours? Uh, not sure – I was trolling around WP trying to find out how other WP users had “liked” my newest blog posting (never found the answer to that), then clicked on, uh, something (?) and found your blog. I’ve lots to learn about where to find stuff on WP and how to get the best use from the system. I hate feeling less than competent but I’ll get there someday! Thist in itself could be a full time job and my goal is supposed to be writing, not spending all my time on figuring out a blog! LOL

        Your post sounds so familiar in that I too have had similar feelings – about so many things in life.
        In answer to your question – right out of college I taught 6th grade for two year and then in various jobs thru my career, I frequently taught about the processes of whatever job we were trying to accomplish.
        Your question about what I ‘produced’ told me that I needed to make that more clear – in the Real Estate world, the term produce is used to designate how much you sell per year or in your career. I edited that so that it now says ‘selling’ rather than ‘producer’.

        LOL AHA! Yeh I had to ask because I have been both a top producer (media sales) as well as a radio show producer hahahahaha

        Do you mind if I ask about what you think you are going to write about? I mean, are you going to have a varied topic site like mine or are you thinking you will write in a niche?

        Both of my daughters teach 5 year olds :), my son wants to teach music. Not sure how I got three teachers out of my loins, but I’ll take it!

        Three teachers! That’s great. You must have given them a love for learning and for passing it on. And a grand baby – it’s a fun time of life when you just get to love on the little ones and then they go home. LOL

        My initial writing goal was writing novels, and I’m working on two with lots of ideas for a series for one of them.

        I’m taking a series of writing courses in West L.A. with a well respected writing guru and he says – journal everyday – so in doing that I’ve starting writing about my Dad and life with Mother. My friend who is an artist, songwriter and poet says I will end up with a memoir, and I probably will.

        It would also be smart to hone skills to write articles as well, so we’ll see. It’s a lot to think about and to try and develop all at once for a newbie – the only thing I know to do is just keep plugging away at it.

        I like the idea of a web site and blog that covers lots of areas, which is part of the reason I enjoyed yours. You sound very versatile, which I would think makes you quite marketable. Yes? What part of the country are you in, if you don’t mind me asking?

        My kids and I are very close. In fact 1 daughter and my son and I all share a place (daughter in middle of divorce). My other daughter and her husband and baby live in the same apartment complex as we do so we all see each other everyday. I also get to have the baby several times a week and yes, send him home lol.

        Writing a novel is a big order! I have started and stopped several times. I am currently co-writing one with a 40 year NASA scientist. Actually I am knee deep in a few books, but the others are non-fiction. My small business marketing book proposal is nearly complete and ready to get to an agent. Non-fiction is an entirely different beast, especially in how you have to do the proposals.

        I was an accelerated student back in high school and took journalism at a college when I was still in high school as part of the program they offered us so-called “smart kids”. I have had no other formal college or training as a writer. It is just something I was born to do and I love it more than anything. I have had some publishing success doing articles for magazines and of course a lot of on-line publications as well.

        I think writing articles is an excellent way to go for someone who has not done a lot of writing yet. Always plugging away at the novel, but gaining writer steam with the articles. It will also help when it comes time soliciting an agent and/or a publisher.

        My blog is so varied it works well for gaining a diverse group of readers. Most people will tell you to find a niche for your blog and stick with that. I just can’t. At least not with this blog here. This is a direct reflection of all that I am, which is why I started it. I do manage a blog called Bloggers for Peace which is a really awesome effort you may want to get involved in: b4peace.org. We just started it in January, but we have nearly 250 other bloggers participating already.

        I have a blog set-up to go live when my marketing book gets picked up and another for a new project I am just beginning which is hush hush for the moment until we (myself and a male blogger I am in cahoots with) launch (hopefully March 1).

        I am in Oregon, the amazingly beautiful great northwest. I love it here. I was in CA for a many years (as well as off and on through out my life). All of my 5 siblings are there (brothers).

        Cheri, it is clear that you were born to write! I love how you have pushed into so many different venues and have so many different outlets. I initially thot I’d write a novel, but now all I know is, write everyday and get better and better while being open to whatever God pushes me towards. Every time I think I have a direction figured out, I find something new, like your prolific blog and writing life and I’m reminded that my dreams are far smaller than what God has for me, so why limit myself? Stretch and see where I can go and what I can be. Thank you for being a part of that.

        How great that you have family around you. That is precious and I know that you are a great benefit to them.

        We came to CA when I was just a toddler and tho I’ve lived in New Mexico, Nevada, Texas and Tennessee, nothing quite feels like home to me like CA. However, I’ve left before so who knows what will be next.

        I look forward to following your new projects when they come out.

        I like the way your page has links to many things (I’ve yet to research all those options) and also how your page reads nearly like a newspaper with many columns and sections. It looks organized and well popularized. Makes me want to just stay there and keep clinking on each item.

        Well then pull up a chair. I don’t drink coffee, but I can certainly make you a cup o’ tea! 🙂 Stay as long as you like and please do come back often. I post almost every day depending on my schedule. My readers are quite diverse, but then again so are the topics I write on. Here I can write what I wish whereas I am boxed in on other sites and venues based on what my clients need/want. As for the layout/look/feel … that magazine/newspaper feel is definitely something I have worked to attain. Personally I do not like the typical “blog” look where one post is atop the other and you have to endlessly scroll to find anything. On mine, you get a good view of several posts/topics at a glance so I can catch that diverse group of readers I mentioned. Also, since I am a media type I think I just have a certain expectation of things lol although I could be fooling myself :p …as for the links and the sidebar menu etc…I really think they are important. I need to update the organization a little soon on mine and I think I may even write about the method to my madness when I do so. Each wordpress “theme” has it’s own unique capabilities, but you can always swap it out to something new anytime you find you need something different or more. I will probably keep the theme I use now forever. Also, everything to do with my blog, the theme, the layout, the widgets, all of it are free features. The only thing I have paid for is a domain name through GoDaddy that I use for branding/promotion/marketing purposes because telling someone cheripseak.com beats the helly outta cherispeak dot wordpress blah blah blah 🙂
