Pass the Peace Post

Pass the Peace Pipe

Puff, puff, pass…

Native Americans pass the peace pipe in ceremonies, but I say every day should be a ceremony of the peace we wish to pass to our fellow man.

Did you know…

In the 19th century American‘s held the belief that they had a divine mandate to expand it’s territories and spread democracy. They called it “Manifest Destiny” and the phrase first saw the light of print in the July – August issue of the United States Magazine and Democratic Review in 1845. As defined in the dictionary it means “a future event accepted as inevitable.”

Peace can be inevitable…

We know — and you can ask any Native American, American’s have rarely been peaceful in their empirical expansions and I’m quite sure they are not God‘s “chosen ones”.

The oft used term “Manifest Destiny” has been mistakenly used by many over the decades with little to no understanding of its true roots. That being said, I propose we hijack the term, redefine it as a procurement of peace, and make it our own.

Define it…

When you break each word down by their definitions you will see the importance and power of these two little words in relation to peace.

Manifest:

  •  readily perceived by the senses and especially by the sense of sight:easily understood or recognized by the mind

Destiny:

  • something to which a person or thing is destined <wants to control his own destiny>a predetermined course of events often held to be an irresistible power

So, how can we “manifest” peace as our “destiny” in the world around us?

Live it…

If we “manifest” peace in out daily lives as individuals, it will be readily perceived, recognized, and understood by those around us. And, if we make peace our “destiny” then we predetermine the course of not just our own lives, but also the lives of others by way of the Law of Attraction and Karma. Even if you are not quite feeling it yet, there is power in “doing”.

“You can begin feeling whatever you want (even if it’s not there)…the universe will correspond to the nature of your song.” ~ The Secret

Do it…

Peace Bomb

For one, pass this peace post on to others; “Re-blog” it, “Share” it, “Like” it, Tweet” it, “Stumble” it, “Digg” it and so on. Social media is the quickest and most effective way to spread any message in today’s digital world. When you are on FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter, or any other social forums and you see negative posts and talk, simply drop a “peace bomb” and exit. Let your actions speak louder than their words.

A personal quote of my own is, “When you belittle, you are small.” ~ Cheri Roberts

I believe this. I believe the internet and its condensed conversations have not only allowed us, but has taught us to speak in snippets which are often snippy with one another. These snippy snippets do not breed peace, but we do have the power to change the world one post at a time so pass the peace post and watch a new kind of “Manifest Destiny” take hold.

We all work with one infinite power.” ~ The Secret

Oh sure – I should know his name. The Sierra Club did a lot of work on that.
Sure, I’d be up for an interview. Are you talking phone or written?

Love this, Cheri. Let’s use The Secret to manifest peace. If we become peace then we manifest peace. I love the paragraph on getting snippy. Every step is a choice–peace or non-peace.

For sure peace is possible, but at the present time there are not many preachers for peace working in the field. We find many more people who love to spread division and hatred, wanting to become very popular by their populist visions and speaking.
